Isomalt Balloon Animal 9:00am-1:00pm
In this 4 hour class we’ll get really comfortable with blown sugar techniques, and then put them all together to create this fun Isomalt balloon animal. Practice your isomalt skills and end up with the cutest project ever! A little sugar experience is helpful, but not necessary. All skill levels welcome, all materials included.

Chicago area native Michelle Boyd, owner of Good Gracious Cakes, has ALWAYS loved dessert. In 2005, she realized that she could combine her 2 passions – art and dessert, and she made the switch from graphic designer & illustrator to full-time sugar artist. Since then, you may have seen her on several television shows on TLC and Food Network, most recently “Halloween Wars,” “Duff Til Dawn,” and “Outrageous Wedding Cakes.” Michelle’s award-winning cake designs have also been featured in several magazines and blogs including Cake Masters Magazine, Sweet, and Cake Wrecks-Sunday Sweets. Michelle was named one of the Top Ten Cake Artists in North America for 2014 by “Dessert Professional” magazine.
She teaches classes in various sugar mediums, with an eye toward helping students bring traditional (but not conventional) art techniques to cake, sugar and chocolate. Michelle also creates elaborate edible showpieces for corporate events and food festivals around the country.
